The #ArtGarden is a developing project for Drawing On Nature after re-locating to Cornwall in March 2020. The idea is to develop a creative outdoor sanctuary for art and wellbeing to be explored, and souls to flourish.

Informal Beauty

Using the informal beauty and bounty of nature to build and develop a space in which to draw, sculpt, create and cook is the aim. Below are some images of the starting point…also know as Cornish Jungle!

Starting Points

The (quite daunting) starting point for the #ArtGarden in summer of 2020

Getting going

The first steps were to clear the courtyard and make a usable garden area for the summer. There was still work to do in The Art House, which was prioritised, so time for the garden was limited.

Lots of nasturtiums (both colourful and edible), pots of mixed salad, french beans, squash, courgettes and tomatoes started the 2020 growing season.

What a joy to breakfast in the patio area, to pick salad for lunch straight from pot to plate, or to sit in the ‘Bird Room’ watching the sparrows, starlings and collared doves breakfast just outside the open window…2020 is off to a good start!

New Year’s Day 2021

A fresh start to the New Year…lots to do in the garden this year! But today, just enjoying the frosty start to 2021.
