The stream full flowing fat with recent rains

Starlings and sparrows discuss the weather in village gardens

A thrush sings the morning – I feel the life in the earth beneath me

Big skies over Crowan church
Heavy rain washes the weekend away
Dark hedgerows
Chinks of sunlight
The sun blooms behind the clouds

Autumn moves to winter…

A charm of goldfinches waves me off
tumbling by on the stiff blow
Grey clouds hurry past grey clouds

Dramatic skies
Sunshine and showers Quiet Blackbird hedgerow bustler
Black jackdaw shapes in now blue sky

I imagine a ‘parish future’ where we have come to understand that we do not exist ‘in’ nature but that we are ‘of’ nature.
